We spent a week in La Ferme des Châtaigniers in July 2009 and we were hugely impressed with every aspect of this restored country gite.
The level of detail and finishing are outstanding, from the mix of 18th century exposed beams and stone with cool modern decor/appliances, to the outstanding pool area which featured a large pool of crystal clear heated water, numerous dining and relaxing areas and children’s play equipment. The owners have provided a complete experience including, a welcome pack of wine, cheese, beer and treats, a selection of in door and outdoor games, a DVD collection, inflatable pool toys, barbecue etc. etc. .....the list is endless!
The price for rental does not reflect the quality, thought and attention to detail that the owners have put into this wonderful house, you could (and we have) paid a lot more for inferior accommodation.
The final 'jewel in the crown' are Mark and Andrea themselves, two of the nicest (and most discreet) owners we have ever met. A simple enquiry about the opening of a local restaurant yielded a booking, directions and things to try on the menu. Fantastic!!!
If you want peace and quiet, somewhere to bring the kids (exclusive use of a stunning pool), some beautiful countryside, a couple of good restaurants and an outstanding gite, you will not do better than La Ferme des Châtaigniers.

La Ferme des Chataigniers was everything it was supposed to be and more. A well equiped, spacious and extremely well looked after cottage in a lovely hamlet outside of Couhe. The country roads surrounding are fantastic for cycling and walking. Mark can accommodate a large number of cyclists with high quality bikes. The pool and pool area are immaculately maintained and a great feature for families.

This is without question the best Gite we have ever stayed in. Clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. This was the first time I've ever had a Kitchen almost as well equiped as my own at home, and it was just brilliant. The Pool was amazing and we cannot recommend this Gite enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Ferme des Châtaigniers. Wonderful hospitality in a beautiful cottage set in stunning woodland surroundings. The cottage is beautifully presented and superbly equipped with everything you could possibly need and a few luxury extras.
The private and peaceful outdoor space is perfect for BBQ’s and the crystal clear pool is stunning and was maintained throughout our stay.
We were made incredibly welcome and Mark's cocktails by the pool should not be missed.
